How to play
Reach the end of the track as fast as you can without falling off or crashing. Three actions: left, right, jump.
Controls
Keyboard: ← → (or A D) change lane, hold to keep sliding. Space (or ↑ / W) jumps; hold it to jump again the moment you land.
Phone: tap the ◀ ▶ buttons with one thumb to change lane (hold to keep sliding), and tap anywhere on the other half of the screen to JUMP (hold it to keep jumping). Everything fires the moment you touch it. Prefer something else? Menu → Settings has swipe steering, drag steering and tilt, and can put the buttons on the left.
The ship always moves forward on its own. You don't steer speed: the track does.
The track
The road is seven lanes wide at most, often much narrower, floating over empty space. Blocks rise and fall in steps. Fall off an edge or into a gap and the run is over. Fly into the face of a higher block and you crash. Land on top of it and you keep going.
Difficulty
Tap the difficulty button at the top of the screen (it says medium to start) to switch between three levels. Medium is the main game and the main leaderboard. Easy runs at the same speed, and the edges of the road hold you in like a wall, even where it narrows. Jumping sideways off it is still up to you, and gaps, walls and fire still count. Hard is Medium, only faster. Easy and Hard times go on their own leaderboards, and you can switch any time. Your free first race is on Medium.
Tiles
- launch pad: jumps for you
- boost pad: speed up
- sticky: slows you down
- tunnel: no jumping
- burning: instant crash
Jumps keep your speed in the air, so a boost pad before a gap carries you further. Speed from boost pads fades back to normal after about a second, in the air too.
Time, par and sections
Your time runs from the start to the finish line. Each track is split into five sections, and your splits show where you gained or lost time. Par is the time of a perfect run, found by a bot that searches every possible line. Getting close to par is hard.
Tips
- Learn the track on safe lines first, then try the risky shortcuts one at a time.
- Enter tunnels centred in the lane, and don't jump inside them.
- A block or tunnel marked NOPE is too tall to jump onto: go around it or through it.
- Watch the next few rows, not your ship. Lane changes take a moment.
- Race a friend's ghost: following a better line is the fastest way to learn one.
- Restarts are instant. Retry the start a dozen times if you need to.
Accounts
Your first race is free, no account needed. After that, log in with Google, Apple or email to keep racing. Your times, ships and rank then follow you to any device.
